The meaning of opposition in the Alexander Technique, as I understand it, is harmony. It is a connection that emphasises independence and appears as a result of it. The touch of hands with the character of honour gives the tone to the other parts of the body of both the pupil and the teacher. The pupil learns the relationship of these parts of the body through the manner in which the teacher approaches the pupil, bringing each of them to freedom and peace.
Yehuda Kuperman qualified at Patrick Macdonald’s course at 16 Ashley Place in May 1967 and spent many years working with him after that. He began teaching in Israel and opened the first school in Israel together with Shmuel Nelken. He subsequently opened his own schools in Basel, Switzerland and Freiburg, Germany and has trained more than 300 students over the course of 25 years. Yehuda confesses that today he enjoys learning from his pupils at workshops.
All events take place at STUDIO ONE, 1 Wolseley Road, Crouch End, London N8 8RR.
